In a recent sit-down, Tunde Eko spoke candidly about the state of content creation in Nigeria, especially the urgent need for structure and evolution in digital filmmaking.

“There’s a lot of content out there — funny stuff, trending stuff — but very few are telling actual stories with proper structure,” he says. For someone who has successfully transitioned from skits to producing High School 2, it’s a perspective grounded in experience.

According to Tunde, creators need to think beyond just weekly posts and likes. “We should be planning content like we’re planning TV seasons — with a beginning, middle, and end.” He emphasizes the importance of scripting, casting, post-production, and even marketing. “People don’t know how much goes into a 10-minute episode of High School 2. It’s not random — it’s intentional.”

His advice? Treat your smartphone like a film camera, not a toy. “This is your studio. Use it wisely.”
