About 7,000 women will converge at the Balmoral Convention Center, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday, July 18 for the sixth edition of SheCan Nigeria Conference.

According to the organizers, this year’s conference theme is, “SheCan Do More: The Woman in Her Power.”

Founder and convener Ezinne Ezeani told journalists that the SheCan platform has provided vocational training, business and career roundtables, mentorship, and enterprise support services to thousands of women since its inception.

Ezeani noted that the SheCan platform operates on three pillars: educate, empower, and transform. This year’s event will feature three panel sessions covering purpose discovery, business and career growth, and wellness, family, and mental health.

Speakers include Bishop Funke Felix-Adejumo, actress and producer Omoni Oboli, Audrey Joe-Ezigbo, and Bummi George.

The speakers are selected based on demonstrated impact and proven success in their respective fields. She described the conference as a platform that brings together accomplished leaders to inspire the next generation of women changemakers.

The event will include networking sessions and a grant initiative in partnership with Sara by Wema, a women-focused proposition by Wema Bank. Three participants will receive business grants of up to N2 million each.

Head of Retail and SME at Wema Bank, Ayodele Olojede, said applicants must submit business pitches through the SheCan Nigeria website or social media platforms. A panel of assessors will review submissions and select winners based on viability, innovation, and potential impact.

“We want to support women who are pushing boundaries and ready to do more. Through this grant, we hope to inspire action, reward innovation, and promote financial inclusion,” Olojede said. She added that the stories shared at the conference serve as a catalyst for other women to start or strengthen their own journeys.

Board member of SheCan Nigeria and Managing Director of Ingentia Energies Limited, Olajumoke Ajayi, described the programme as a life-changing intervention that has impacted women and entire communities. She recalled testimonies of women who found healing and renewed purpose through past editions, including a participant who overcame depression after attending a virtual session.
