Ahead of next year’s poll, the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has constituted its campaign council to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), among others.
Inaugurating the committee in Abuja yesterday, the party’s National Chairman, Samuel Memeh, said it had assembled experienced political leaders and prominent grassroots mobilisers to oversee the campaign.
Memeh charged members of the campaign council to remain committed and interface directly with all candidates and the leadership of the party at all levels.
As political strategists, he urged them to use their wealth of knowledge to promote the party and present it to the public as a viable opposition capable of providing the good governance the masses are yearning for.
Members of the newly inaugurated National Campaign Council include Fortune Aghwaretoma, Esq., Chairman; Dr Tosin Odeyemi, Co-Chairman; Grace Obekpa, Secretary; and Judith Aguenu, Assistant Secretary.
John O. Friday will head the Strategy Committee, while Methuselah Gallio will chair the Mobilisation Committee. Fortune Aghwaretoma will head the Security Committee, while Dr Tosin Odeyemi will lead the Media and Publicity Committee.
Responding, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Aghwaretoma, appreciated the leadership of the DLA for the trust reposed in the council members.
He noted that the responsibilities placed before them were enormous but promised that they would not disappoint, adding that they would work together to make the party the preferred choice of voters during the forthcoming general elections.
