•To lead strike over unpaid bonuses
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ready to lead his Gabon Panthers in a decisive strike to demand the payment of their overdue match bonuses.
According to reports from SportingSun, sourced from LiveFootFrance, the players are taking a stand against the Gabonese Football Federation (FEGAFOOT).
Aubameyang, who netted four goals in a thrilling 3-4 match against Gambia, has cemented his status in African football history. He now stands alongside greats like Roger Milla, Mohamed Salah, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Islam Slimani.
However, the international window has been far from ideal for the former Arsenal star, despite his pivotal role in securing Gabon’s qualification for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. After a year of waiting in vain for the promised bonuses, Aubameyang and his teammates have made it clear that enough is enough. They are demanding immediate payment before the upcoming AFCON, which runs from December 21 to January 18.
On another note, Aubameyang will be ready for Gabon’s crucial 2026 World Cup playoff semifinal against Nigeria, set for November 13.
He served a one-match suspension for a red card received during the match against Gambia while the team secured a 2-0 win over Burundi on October 14.
