Interest in the West Africa Automotive Show (WAAS) has soared following confirmation that over thirty companies from China will exhibit at the 2023 edition slated for Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The annual exhibition show billed for Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th of May will bring in leading names from the automotive world to discuss the potential in Nigeria’s own automotive parts sector.
Prominent among the exhibitors will be the delegation from China which will be staging a post covid-19 return. Another boost comes with the Automotive Components and Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA). The body will bring together 20 companies from India in a central pavilion showcasing motor vehicle parts and services.
Speaking ahead of the show tagged ‘Transition to sustainable, quality automotive parts supply in West Africa,’ convener, Jamie Hill who doubled as the Managing Director of BtoB Events, stated interest from China-based companies will lure positive vibes to the exhibition.
“We are extremely pleased that ACMA is hosting its first country pavilion at WAAS, and we are excited the Chinese auto parts companies were able to return to Nigeria after the pandemic. “With the expansion of the exhibition space and the new conference, visitors will gain much more information about the latest developments and even get more enlightened in other business opportunities in the after-sales sector.”
“I’m happy exhibitor numbers and interest are growing meaning the 2023 show will be three times the size of last year’s event. More than 40 countries from five continents will participate,’ he assured.
In a similar vein, the exhibition will bring together senior representatives of large automotive companies from Nigeria and West Africa. These will include assembly plants, distributors, importers, local and regional offices of international names such as Toyota and others.
