A senatorial aspirant seeking to represent the people of Ondo South Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Boye Oyewumi, yesterday, visited Ese-Odo Local Government Area to consult with party leaders and members on his intention.
Oyewumi, currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ondo-State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA), visited the wards in the area namely Agbadagba, Igbootu, Apoi (1,2,3,4), Igbekobo and Arogbo-Ijaw.
The APC Chairman of Ese Odo Council Area, Mr Opinmi Decent who received Mr Oyewumi and his team commended the leadership skills of the aspirant.
Mr. Decent described the aspirant as a man with great foresight and clear plans stressing that it is heartwarming that such a man is in politics.
In his address, Oyewumi who appreciated the warmth of his hosts described them as people with great culture and values.
He stressed that his intention to run for Senate is to actualise his age long desire to serve his people, adding that the Southern part of the state is too rich in human and material resources to be as poor as it presently is.
He said the Senate seat is the closest access the people have to the federal government who has the final say on the area’s resources hence the people need to get it right with who becomes Senator to facilitate all round industrialisation.
According to him, so many projects in progress which will be of great benefit especially to people in the area such as the deep sea port are awaiting licenses which can only be fast tracked at the federal level.
Oyewumi noted that he is already part of the process of getting licences for the projects and a seat for him in the Senate will enable the state achieve the goal with ease.
The aspirant appreciated the sincerity of the people, their love for hard work and determination for a better living condition, and assured them of his commitment to good governance.
Leaders of the party from all the wards visited commended the aspirant especially for his distinguished personality.
They promised to keep him in their prayers and also encouraged him to keep up his good works.
