Chances of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State to be returned for a second tenure in the November 18 governorship election has received a boost as Osumenyi Development Union, Abuja branch, has made the governor a consensus candidate as it advised all Anambra unions in the Diaspora to follow suit.
Chairman of the union, Chief Chika Onujeme, made the pronouncement when the union members visited Anambra to lend their support and express their readiness to give Governor Obiano one hundred percent of their votes during the election.
He said that Anambra people in the Diaspora were grateful to the governor for his breakthrough in fixing security issues in the state.
This feat, he said, has enabled people to come ti the state without fear of any kind.
He noted that the governor’s defeat of criminals has made the state investment-friendly.
In his remarks,Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi South Council Area, Hon. Felix Odimegwu, who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Akudo Ojiego said that Governor Obiano should be adopted by the people of the State as a consensus candidate for the election because of what he described as the Governor’s colossus achievements in three and a half years in office.
He explained that the Governor had done creditably as a leader, adding that he deserved a second tenure to finish the developmental programmes he started for the state.
The TC Chairman also reminded the audience that the ongoing voter registration and revalidation exercise is continuous and implored them to participate in the exercise without further delay to be in a position to vote massively for Obiano.
Commending the developmental strides of the State government, Odimegwu noted that with visible transformation of all sectors of the economy, the State was on the verge of being launched to unimaginable heights.
One of the patrons of ODU, Abuja branch, Chief Emeka Akuezue insisted that Obiano should be allowed to continue his good works in the State, saying that the ‘choose-your-project’ initiative has endeared the Governor to the people of the State. He also commended Obiano for providing gainful employment for Anambra youths.
