•As Nigerians ask Oloyede to reveal highest scorer

Some Nigerians online have asked the Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede to reveal the top scorer in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Many Nigerians online are celebrating different students as top scorer in the UTME. Schools have shared results of their brilliant kids with high scores in the 2025 UTME online.
JAMB released the results of 1.9million candidates that wrote the 2025 UTME on Friday, May 9th and Prof. Oloyede mentioned 374 as the highest score and he did not reveal the name of the candidate or the school.
Currently, the student with the highest score is Olawepo Gertrude of HillCity Schools, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State; she scored 373 in the 2025 UTME. The 16-year-old pupil intends to study Computer Science.
Another student of the same school, Alabi Enoch, 16-year-old, got 371 and he put in for Computer Engineering. He scored English 77, Chemistry 98, Mathematics 98 and Physics 98.
Among other results shared by schools and Nigerians online include 16-year-old pupil of Isaac Newton School, Matungo, Oke-Aro, Lagos, Azoyenime Samuel Chukwuemeka, who scored 372.
In the UTME, he obtained Physics 98, Chemistry 98, Mathematics 98 and English 78. He intends to study Aerospace Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo (OAU), Ife.
Student of Icon comprehensive College, Akure, Ondo State, Afolabi Olumide, scored 370. He got Physics 98, Chemistry 94, Mathematics 98 and English 80.
Oloyede while briefing newsmen on the complaints about the performance of candidates, said “We were therefore not surprised when the best score in 2025 (374) was the best highest in the last one and half decades.’’
Some Nigerians online asked: “Who is the person that scored the 374 until this moment nobody knows.” In a twitter post, @kokoronla @Trending Ex asked, “the highest reported 2025 UTME score is 374. But this lacks officials JAMB confirmation. Other unverified claims suggest scores of 372, 371 and 370. JAMB states 4,756 candidates scored 320 or above, yet no exact top score is disclosed.”
“One news said Akure boy scored the highest, another said its Deeper Life student. Mountain of Fire will soon come with their own boy scoring highest,” someone stated online.
