11 pioneer Year 12 students released at Brickhall school graduation

11 pioneer Year 12 (SS3) students of Brickhall School, Abuja, have graduated at their maiden graduation ceremony organized by the school management to celebrate the successful completion of their academic programmes.

Anambra State governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, former Chairman, Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Prof. Sam Amadi, and several other dignitaries led by the Founder of the School, Senator Joy Emodi, participated in the graduation ceremony.

There was also an impressive turn out of parents, guardians and other well wishers, as well as other students of the school who had turned out to witness the maiden graduation ceremony for Year 12 students, as well as Year six graduates

Chairman and Founder of the School, Senator Joy Emodi, in her welcome remarks, recalled with nostalgia, the journey of the school some years ago, and the amazing success that have been recorded and laurels won by the students within the few years of establishment.

Senator Emodi congratulated the students for their academic doggedness that culminated in their successful graduation, and wished them well in their subsequent pursuit of further academic excellence.

Anambra State governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, also congratulated the graduating students, as well as the teachers and the entire school community for the successful maiden graduation ceremony for the first set of secondary school students.

He charged the graduands to go with their heads high considering the quality of education and training they received over the years they spent in the school.

Chairman of the occasion, Babatunde Kalejaiye, in his speech, described Brickhall school as one of the best basic schools in Abuja, highlighting several reasons that made him arrived at such conclusion.

He said: “My child was schooling at Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja, but I had to withdraw him few years ago, and enrolled him in this Brickhall school. I couldn’t have taken such decision if I wasn’t convinced that Brickhall school has all it takes for my child to have good and strong basic education foundation.”

He also congratulated the graduating students, and highlighted over 10 points they must take note of, in order to succeed in their future endeavors, academically and otherwise.

He also asked the students to be focus, proactive, productive, and have clear vision of what they want, and be open to positive change and criticism, and also learn to take feedback.

Guest Speaker, Prof. Sam Amadi, in his submissions, exposed the graduating students to the benefit of quality education, and its relevance to the future exploits and other engagements with the global community.

He assured the students that the quality of education, knowledge and skills acquired from Brickhall School, will help them compete favorably with their contemporaries both in the universities and beyond.

He charged the students to be great and good ambassadors of the school, reminding them that the school will be patiently waiting for their achievements so they can celebrate together.

A parent who identified herself as Fauzia, appreciated the great work of the teachers and the school management which she said was evident in the academic and general life of their daughter.

She said: “My daughters has been in this school for the past three years, and I can attest that huge changes have been recorded in their academics and general lifestyle since then.

“They have improved in confidence, love, human relations, comportment and I am extremely happy for that. I remain grateful to the school.”

She encouraged the school to continue the good work, promising to continue to spread the good message about the school.
