Yuletide: AIG, PCRC assure travellers to South East of safety

The new Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of police, Yusuf Suleiman, in charge of Zone IX, and the Public Community Relation Committee (PCRC), have assured travellers to the South East of a blissful Christmas and New Year celebrations. He stated this when the chairman of Zone IX of PCRC, Collins Obi, led members of the committee on a courtesy visit to Suleiman, at the police zonal headquarters, Umuahia. Suleiman assured people that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a crime-free season.

He said: “Travellers coming home to celebrate their Christmas and New Year should feel free. We have good security arrangements to protect everybody and we want you the PCRC to partner with us, give us good information reports to help us prevent crimes.”

Earlier in his address, Obi pledged his organisation’s absolute loyalty to the police and assured people of a robust working relationship with the new AIG, especially during the Yuletide.
