A group, under the aegis of Atiku National youth organisation (ANYO), has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to accept the appeal extended to him by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to return to the party.
The group, led by its national president, Hon. Hyacinth Harsila, National Secretary, Com. Tiku Samuel said ahead of 2019 general elections, said it has begun to strategise for Abubakar’s presidential ambition adding that call on the former vice president to return to the party by the PDP leadership was a manifestation of his acceptability and the track records of achievement left for the generation to see and to help build the party he has nurtured as the largest party in Africa.
The Organisation, in a statement, maintained that the preparation by the organisation has became necessary to let Nigerians know that Abubarkar has much to offer in the administration of the country which accounts for his support by all and sundry.
The statement noted that the youth nationwide which accounts for sixty -five percent of the country’s population and voting strength would provide the framework for positive governance in Nigeria adding that vice president Atiku Abubakar knows the importance of the youth and will therefore, carry them along in his administration which they said underscore the need for his acceptability in all spheres
The organisation which emphasised that Abubakar, as a founding member of the party, was being called to return because the former vice president was the man who knows how to solve Nigeria’s problems.
“As you can see, Atiku in his wisdom has over the years engaged the youths and discovered that there was a need to work in synergy with the youths with the application of other measure that has been working for the country”, the group declared.
“All Nigerians of good conscience must support Atiku to rein in the evil facing this nation. The Arewa youth, the Biafra agitators as well as the Niger-Delta militants must embrace peace and work together for the interest of one Nigeria”, ANYO said.
The youth organization who lamented that the country would have been better than it is currently if Atiku have been given the opportunity to rule Nigeria and implement policies he has for the nation, commended the former vice President for being a bridge builder between the North and the south even outside government.
According to the group, the good deed of Atiku would outlive him urging leaders across the country to emulate his leadership qualities.
Commenting on the agitations for restructuring, the group explained that agitations and calls for restructuring in Nigeria could only be actualized through the amendment of the constitution.
