Young Nigerians have been encouraged to embrace technology, creativity, and adaptability to remain competitive in today’s rapidly changing job market.
The call was made by media entrepreneur, Chude Jideonwo, during the 2026 ‘Tine Africa Changemakers Conference’ held in Ikeja, Lagos.
The event gathered more than 1,000 students, educators, innovators, and civic leaders to discuss the future of education and innovation in Africa.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Unlocking Africa’s Future Through Education and Creativity’, Jideonwo emphasised that careers are evolving from traditional, predictable roles into opportunities that require innovation, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.

“The pace of technological change is accelerating rapidly. Just look at how Artificial Intelligence has evolved within the last six months. Mental flexibility and adaptability are essential. If you value your career, you must be prepared to evolve with changing realities. Young people should not only consume technology but also use it as a tool for building sustainable careers,” he stated.
Convener of the conference and higher education consultant, Louis Adekola, in his welcome address, explained that the event was created to explore how global educational trends are shaping Africa’s future.
“Every society’s present and future are reflections of its education system. This year’s conference focused on AI and technology because of their growing influence on sectors, such as education, healthcare, and agriculture. Our aim is to expose young Nigerians to scholarship opportunities, the creative industry, and emerging career paths early enough for them to succeed,” he stated.
The conference also featured panel discussions on Artificial Intelligence, technology, scholarship opportunities, and the future of Africa.
Speakers included IT entrepreneur, Douglas Kendyson, international education expert Daniel Emanahor, and gender and disability inclusion advocate, Ejiro Sharon-Okotie.
