WÚRÀFÀDÁKÀ, a leading clothing hub in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday, hosted a groundbreaking “Business of Fashion Masterclass,” drawing over 150 participants from across Nigeria.

The event, which marked the company’s 10th anniversary, showcased its commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs and driving the fashion industry forward.

Participants traveled from various cities, including Abuja, Lagos, Akure, Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Ile-Ife, Ekiti, Mowe, and Abeokuta, to attend the masterclass. They received certificates of training upon completion, symbolizing their readiness to contribute to the industry and create employment opportunities.

Speaking on the initiative, the founders of WÚRÀFÀDÁKÀ, Mrs. Adedamola and Mr. Tijesuni Simire, highlighted the importance of the masterclass. Mrs. Simire described it as a significant step towards their mission of promoting self-reliance among Nigerian youths. “We are glad to have invested heavily in the lives of these amazing and hardworking Africans. Fashion is not just about clothing; it’s about building a community that thrives on creativity and sustainability,” she said.

The duo, who relocated to Nigeria from Europe to establish the brand’s headquarters in Ilorin, emphasized their long-term vision of expanding beyond Kwara State. “Our dream is to make WÚRÀFÀDÁKÀ a household name across Nigeria and beyond,” Mr. Simire said. “We want to continue creating opportunities for people who are passionate about fashion and entrepreneurship.”

Over the past decade, WÚRÀFÀDÁKÀ has gained recognition for its innovative designs and dedication to empowering individuals through training and recruitment. The company has not only won the admiration of local audiences but has also begun to attract attention on a national and international scale.

Participants at the masterclass expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn from industry leaders. According to a Lagos-based fashion designer, Oluwatobi Adebayo, the training was a transformative experience. “I’ve learned so much about branding, customer relations, and business growth. This is exactly what I needed to take my fashion business to the next level,” she said.

Another participant, Sodiq Omisore from Ibadan, praised the inclusivity of the program. “What stands out for me is how WÚRÀFÀDÁKÀ created an environment where everyone felt valued, regardless of their background or level of expertise,” he said.

The event also featured practical sessions on design techniques, marketing strategies, and financial management, equipping participants with tools to thrive in the competitive fashion industry. “Our goal is to provide knowledge that empowers and inspires,” Mr. Simire added.

WÚRÀFÀDÁKÀ’s journey from a local enterprise to a national brand has been fueled by its founders’ vision and the loyalty of its customers. As the company celebrates its 10th year, it continues to inspire and lead in an industry that is both challenging and dynamic.

“We believe in the power of fashion as a tool for social change,” Mrs. Simire said. “By empowering one person at a time, we are gradually transforming our communities. This is just the beginning.”

With plans to expand its reach and impact, WÚRÀFÀDÁKÀ remains steadfast in its mission to empower Nigerian youths and elevate the country’s fashion industry.
