Former England captain, John Terry said the Three Lions have no reason to fear Argentina ahead of today’s World Cup semi-final clash, insisting Thomas Tuchel’s side are superior “player for player”.

Terry, who won 78 caps for England and played at two World Cups, believes this England team has the quality to reach the final and should go into the last-four tie with confidence.

“Argentina does not worry me. I don’t look at Argentina and think: ‘they are better than us’. No. Player for player, we are better than Argentina,” Terry said, per Fabrizio Romano.

England face the defending champions at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to decide Spain’s opponent in the July 19 final.

Spain beat 2018 champions France 2-0 in Texas on Tuesday.

It will be Argentina captain, Lionel Messi’s first encounter with the Three Lions, who hope to surpass their semi-final finish in Qatar.
