To celebrate World Book and Copyright Day, the Rainbow Book Club will be reviewing Jowhor Ile’s And After Many Days, a compelling narrative by a Port Harcourt boy, set in Port Harcourt, as its book-of-the-month. Jowhor’s book is shortlisted for the Etisalat Prize for African Literature.
This book is described as ‘…a novel of childhood, of the delicate, complex balance of power and love between siblings; the unique ecosystems of a family. It is also a portrait of a society, as the old world gives way to a new status quo. A novel of quiet, devastating force, And After Many Days holds at its centre a profound story of life, loss and becoming.’
The event kicks off Join us at 2pm on Saturday 29th April at the Port Harcourt Book Centre, Rivers State, after Obi Wali Centre by Air Assault Golf Course.
