From Tony John, Port Harcourt
Some women groups in Rivers State on Friday protested against the declaration of a state of emergency and the appointment of a sole administrator by President Bola Tinubu in the state.
The women, who marched to the state Government House, were demanding the return of the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara. They also called for the lifting of the state of emergency and return to democratic governance in Rivers State. The protesters, dressed in black with placards, passionately appealed to President Tinubu to rescind his decision on the state of emergency.
