In Christendom, 50 days after Easter Sunday is called the Day of Pentecost. This year it falls on May 28th. Founder and General Overseer, World Evangelism Bible Church Inc. (WEBIC), Dr Samson Ayorinde, explains to newsmen the significance of the day and how it will be celebrated in his church.
Day of Pentecost
It’s a day of celebrations especially among Pentecostals. It is also called the Feast of Pentecost or White Sunday when the Holy Ghost descended on the disciples. According to the Word of God in the book of Acts 2 vs 3 and 4 which states, ”And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them. “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” The Spirit has been with us since then.
How WEBIC will celebrate it
In January this year, my prophecy regarding the victory of President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was published in a national newspaper. That was more than a month before the presidential election. We are using the occasion of the Day of Pentecost which is Sunday May 28 to pray for his administration. The Spirit had in June 2006 instructed me to anoint Tinubu, who was governor of Lagos State, that one day he will be President of the country. The divine instruction is definite. Nothing can change that prophecy. That revelation of 2006 is coming to pass 17 years after on May 29th, 2023. I see his administration ushering in a new era of prosperity, progress, good governance, infrastructural development and peace. No bloodshed. We at WEBIC under the leadership of Prophet Samson Ayorinde shall pray for Tinubu’s successful administration. It shall be a turning point for Nigeria. Assisted by his cabinet and wife, Remi, they will form a good team to transform the nation as Tinubu did when he ruled Lagos. All eyes shall see the real change as new economic resources that will triple the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
To this end, I enjoin Tinubu’s political son and Governor Sanwoolu as well as members of the public to join us at WEBIC headquarters in Lagos to pray for a successful and peaceful tour of duty for Tinubu .We will pray and praise God. This is what we expect on “Sekere White Sunday” on May 28th,2023. Every WEBIC member must come for the service with ‘sekere,’ a traditional music instrument to send our praises to the Almighty.
Other programmes at WEBIC this year
The Achievers Ladies Congress is coming in July. It comes up every two years. According to Deaconess Maureen Omokhiomon, it’s going to be a five-day event starting from Wednesday, July 26 and ending on July 30 with a Thanksgiving Service. During the programme, members and their friends from all the branches shall converge on the headquarters in Ojota. Activities lined up include Shiloh Hour, Female Ministers Session and Fruitful Moments.
Also expected are Men’s Fellowship anniversary, Mantle/Convention and possibly we will anoint and ordain ministers who had successfully passed through Bible School
