Convener of Abula Festival, Bisilola Bakare has averred that the event will resonate with Lagosians. Bakare said: “Abula Festival will resonate with Lagosians, it’s the same food and why Abula is different is because we are highlighting an indigenous meal. What we are adding to the food festival culture is something different. At the core of everything that we do is culture and tourism”.

Bakare also added that the first edition was held in Ibadan, saying the people in Lagos persuaded her to bring it to the city.

“We had the first edition in Ibadan in July 2022 and are bringing it to Lagos. We had a turnout of almost 700 people in Ibadan despite the rain. In Lagos, we are hoping to double the number or triple it. There is this acceptance that Abula has enjoyed more than any other meal. When we did the Ibadan edition, people were messaging me asking me when we are bringing it to Lagos. What we are promoting in Abula festival is indigenous meal, music and culture. So there is a lot of funfair, live performances, DJs playing and people enjoying the meal. You can also connect with people and have a good time. Abula Festival already is appealing”.

Abula Festival will hold on the 26th of November at The Good Beach Lagos.
