A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Innocent Agbo, has given reasons he wants to represent the people of Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo/ Ado Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives, in the next election.
Agbo told journalists yesterday in Abuja, that the constituents have been inundating him with calls to represent them in the Green Chamber, to enable him continue with the good works he has been doing as a philanthropist.
He claimed that for decades, the constituents have not enjoyed democratic dividends despite the abundance of natural resources.
The oil business mogul promised to introduce laws that would positively change the fortune of the people, if elected.
“We will be in one accord to ensure that this time around, we leave a legacy that the generation yet unborn, will be proud of in the 35 wards in the constituency with Okpokwu 12, Ogbadibo 13, Ado 10 respectively.
“Our collective progress, prosperity and victory at the polls depends on our participation. Let us choose competent leadership. Let us choose the best man with electoral value and scandal-free to secure our victory come 2025.
“I know that governance is not a rocket science. But we have a collective responsibility to ensure that Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo/ Ado Federal Constituency of Benue State gets back on its feet because the people are very smart.
“If as an individual running my private business, I am offering scholarships, what would happen if I get into the House of Representatives? Things will get better. A good number of people, especially the indigents will benefit from my scholarship scheme.
“For those who might not want to go to school, we will set up skills acquisition training centres across the wards. Nobody will be left behind.”
