Rising Nigerian singer Big Chinni, known for tracks such as ‘Ololufe’ and ‘Baby Yo’, has expressed her desire to collaborate with Afrobeat stars Asake and Fireboy.
Speaking to Saturday Sun on her musical aspirations, the Bankerz Musik artiste highlighted her interest in creating a unique sound with the duo.
“Right now, I would love to collaborate with Asake and Fireboy. We’d create something really special—probably a vibe-heavy, emotional Afrobeats track that hits deep.” she said.
Big Chinni also used the opportunity to address what she described as the imbalance in recognition between male and female artists in the Nigerian music industry. According to her, more needs to be done to celebrate the contributions of women.
“Nigerian female artists don’t get enough recognition and accolades compared to their male colleagues. It’s something that needs to change.”
When asked about the inspiration behind her music, the soulful singer pointed to her personal experiences as a driving force behind her songwriting.
“My life in general inspires me—my early life struggles, my family, past relationships… those experiences usually find their way into the songs I write. They carry the deepest emotions for me.”
