Afropop artiste, Aaron Anthony, aka YolyBoy, has set social media abuzz after rejecting $5,000 performance offer in Ethiopia, just to be part of Davido’s Five Alive Tour that hit his hometown, Adamawa, on October 29.

“I had a $5,000 show deal in Ethiopia, but I cancelled it. Davido’s Five Alive tour is history in motion, and he’s coming to my home state and I have to be there. Money can wait, history can’t,” YolyBoy said.

The Five Alive tour is Davido’s biggest tour of the year, a celebration of his 15-year journey as one of Africa’s most influential artists.

The tour began in Akwa Ibom on October 26, and continued with stops in Adamawa (October 29), Ibadan (November 9), Enugu (December 1), and the grand finale in Lagos on December 25, Christmas Day.

The Five Alive tour has drawn massive crowds, with fans describing it as a movement that unites music lovers across Nigeria. It has, indeed, reaffirmed Davido’s status as the most loved and accessible Afrobeats superstar.
