Nollywood actress Queeneth Agbor marked her recent birthday with a profoundly unconventional and inspiring act of philanthropy: a celebration held inside the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Ikoyi. The event, themed “Strength Beyond Walls,” saw the actress and her team feed approximately 1,000 inmates, turning a personal milestone into a powerful message of hope and second chances.
In a candid conversation with Saturday Sun, Agbor revealed the surprising and financially demanding journey that led to the initiative.
“All I wished for this year was a birthday with a purpose, to quietly go to the orphanage home and celebrate with my fellow orphans. Little did I know God had another plan for me! In less than three weeks to my birthday, I had the scariest vision—to feed 1,000 inmates in this economy!”
Despite the daunting logistical and financial challenge, the actress felt compelled to move forward. “With no idea about how it was going to turn out, I embarked on the journey knowing God was fully involved. Through all the disappointments and hurdles, God used my colleagues, family, friends, media, and kind strangers who truly believed in second chances and the power of kindness to make my dream a reality.” When asked if she plans to make this philanthropic gesture an annual project, the actress confirmed her unwavering commitment to the cause.
“I will do this over and over again just to see the joy on their faces and remind them that there’s actually strength beyond walls,” Agbor stated.
