Former Juventus and Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has reportedly agreed personal terms with Besiktas on a three-year contract.
The Serbia international became a free agent after his Juventus contract expired on June 30, following four-and-a-half years in Turin.
Vlahovic had been linked with several clubs, including Milan, Napoli and Roma in Serie A, as well as Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United.
However, according to the report, none of those clubs was prepared to meet his salary demands, paving the way for a move to Turkey.
Turkish transfer journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that Vlahovic reached an agreement with Besiktas on Tuesday evening.
The proposed contract is reportedly worth €8m per season, with performance-related bonuses capable of taking his annual earnings to €10m.
Vlahovic and his agent are also expected to receive a substantial signing-on fee as part of the agreement.
Besiktas president Serdal Adali reportedly travelled to Belgrade to complete the final paperwork for the transfer.
He is expected to return to Istanbul on Wednesday, August 12, with the deal set to reunite Vlahovic with coach Vincenzo Italiano.
Italiano previously worked with Vlahovic at Fiorentina and reportedly pushed for a reunion with the striker at Besiktas.
The move would bring Vlahovic’s four-year spell in Serie A to an end after he initially joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018.
He later moved to Juventus in January 2022 for €85.4m, following a contract dispute at Fiorentina.
Vlahovic’s proposed Besiktas move therefore represents a major new chapter for the 26-year-old striker, who will now continue his career in the Turkish Super Lig.
