Vision from Egypt

Ben Logo

It was the  cool breeze that oozed  into my bedroom on tenth storey building of Nasr City Apartment in the city of Cairo, Egypt, that quaked  me from my deep sleep. I was lodged  in the  room for a medical issue which is surgery. I had just finished a  surgery in 2019 at Watery eye Hospital, Cairo, Egypt under the supervision of renown eye surgeon, Dr Abdla Hassoun and was driven to the hotel room when suddenly I fell into a deep  sleep or should l describe it as a trance or what.

The time was around 12 midnight and 1 AM when suddenly, I saw a celestial  been very tall in glowing white apparel. I could not look at his face  which I can describe as very whitish and lighting bright. He tapped me on my right shoulder and showed me  what looks like a movie of  what would later happen in my  country, Nigeria. What I saw, was very frightening and pathetic I saw a well dressed man and some children scrambling for food from a dustbin around a big apartment  and the streets were very empty they were storing them in nylon bags  and it looks like there was  famine and hardship written on the faces of the few people walking along the street of most states in the country. Suddenly the vision ended and the man vanished from my sight . The man told me my son by this shall men know that you are my disciples when ye show love one another” I later I found the quote in the Bible. John 13:35.

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one another”.

After that trip, I returned back to Nigeria and the Covid 19 came and I told my family about the vision. I kept it to myself until the 1st of October 2024 when Nigerians unrestrictedly started  venting their anger and hardship through radio stations and demonstrations on the street around the country. As I sat down to evaluate and analyze the situation in the country it’s dawn on me that if there is LOVE in the heart of various leaders at all level in the country the government will not lie to the people when her  policies are not practicable and are  based on falsehood. Institutions will not lie to their workers over its false aclaim  achievements truly if there is love the youths would not take up arms and kidnap other citizens to enreach themselves. If there is love in the society, the deprived youths will not arm themselves in the name of Religious dogma to kill and maim others.

If there is Love in the country traders would not unilaterally increase there foods stuffs and products just to enreach themselves without any patriotic concern for other citizens. Indeed, If there is love among the people landlords will not increase house rent without any feelings for tenants whose salaries are hard to come by. Same lack of love is evident everywhere around the country. Unfortunately, Even religious houses  hardly preach love to their congregations, instead it is how to get rich quick without practising the tenets of love which are the  cardinal basis of every religious believe.

Even our original national anthem, which was composed by  Lillian Jean Willams and  Frances Benda and  recently reintroduced into our consciousness by President Tinubu, Says, “Though tribe and tongue may differ In Brotherhood we stand” and also “O God of all creation

Grant this our one request

Help us to build a nation

Where no man is oppressed

And so with peace and plenty

Nigeria may be blessed”.

In other words, without love the people of Nigeria can only enjoy peace and progress when there is love radiating in every area of development. It is love that had continue to bind the country together in all it administrative and political activities.

No wonder Peter obi the presidential candidate of Labour Party must have been moved by love when he travelled all the way to the north to sympathise with internally displaced children and women by humbling himself to even share food with them. Can we also see love in the recent action of the military when the Chief of defence staff General Christopher Gwabin Musa   extended an olive  branch to all the  militant urging them to embrace peace and surrender their arms and ammunitions.

Today there is hardship in the land and people are suffering sequel to wrong implementation of government policies unfortunately the hardship has forced many  into various types of  criminality  according to records Nigeria with a crime index of 66.2, faces a complex set of challenges, including insurgency, cybercrime by many of our youth due to lack of employment, increase in kidnapping and preventable communal clashes including economic disparities among law enforcement personnels and their agencies. A visit to many homes and hospitals speak volume about the hardship in the country. The rate of death, especially in the villages has continued to be on the increase.  Virtually every bad news in the villages around the country are results of faulty government  economic policies. Take the petrol price hike  from  500 Naira per liter  to  one thousand Naira and one hundred  kobo per one liter of fuel, in the space of one year of President Bola Tinubu administration.  Painfully, as the major  oil company  which is owned by the government NNPC and the president is supposed to be the supervising minister claimed that it was not aware of the reported  latest increase in the petrol price. Such blantant denial has further portrayed the government as very incensitive to the deteriorating plight of ordinary citizens of Nigeria  by  increasing there suffering. Infact, economists have severally blamed the government for what they described as “ fundamentally faulty and wrong application of its economic policies which have spiral effect not only on the economy  but has further increase the insecurity and criminality in the country”.

Truely, the country needs to be salvaged. All hands, from past President, traditional rulers, political rulers, economists and notable Nigerian youths should be on deck.  Could this be the  national youths conference the government is advocating  as the anticipated solution to the mirad of problems facing the country?.

Congratulations !
