Valentine: Foundations Gift Widows Cash, Donates Food Items In FCT

The Touch Me Foundation, in partnership with Noella Foundation and Child Rights Foundation, has donated food items to widows to alleviate the current economic challenges.

The event which was held in Abuja on Valentine’s witnessed the participation of over 600 widows and 100 children, who were the recipients of food palliatives and financial aid.

The visionary founder of Touch Me Foundation, Prince Ademuyiwa Toni Oduwole, while sharing his insights on the profound impact of the initiative said, “Valentine’s Day, a day traditionally earmarked for lovers to exchange gifts and celebrate love since the 8th Century, was reimagined this year to embrace the often overlooked members of our community – the widows and single parents. It was an absolute honor to collaborate with Noella Foundation and Child Rights Foundation to ensure these remarkable women felt a strong sense of love and care.”

The event transcended beyond the provision of immediate aid, laying the groundwork for long-term empowerment of the beneficiaries.

Oduwole said the foundation has concluded plans to commence an 18-month youth empowerment program titled: ‘Renew Hope For The Youth Empowerment Program Initiatives’. He said the empowerment would features vocational training, followed by a year of establishment and monitoring, aimed at offering sustainable support to uplift the involved families.

In addition, he said the collaborating foundations have generously committed to sponsoring the education of one child from each family, thereby guaranteeing that the ensuing generation has the educational opportunities required to forge a brighter future.

Prince Oduwole further emphasised the commitment of the foundations to effect a genuine difference in the lives of these families: “Our foundations are wholeheartedly dedicated to creating a meaningful impact on the lives of these families. By providing sponsorship for education and the necessary support systems, we are determined to dismantle the cycle of poverty and offer these families a beacon of hope for a prosperous future. Witnessing the joy and gratitude in their eyes was an immensely delightful experience, and we pledge to persist in our support for the widows and orphans within our community.”
