A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State and House of Representatives hopeful, Prince-Henry Hart Ucheonwu, has congratulated the Chairman of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Chijioke Joseph Ezugwu, on his emergence as a recipient of the 2026 Vanguard Personality of the Year Award.

In a congratulatory message, Ucheonwu described the honour, conferred by Vanguard Media Limited, as a well-deserved recognition of Ezugwu’s contributions to grassroots development and human empowerment.

He commended the council chairman’s leadership, particularly in advancing youth empowerment, strengthening security, and improving the standard of living for residents of Uzo-Uwani.

Ucheonwu also praised the synergy between Ezugwu and the Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, noting that their collaboration has driven progress in security, infrastructure, and overall development across the state.

According to him, the Vanguard award reflects growing recognition of Ezugwu’s performance in public service.

“This award amplifies what we have always known about him and underscores the increasing recognition of his contributions to grassroots development,” he said.

He further described Ezugwu as a committed leader with strong experience in security matters, adding that his previous roles at the local government level have helped shape effective responses to insecurity in the area.

Ucheonwu noted that the chairman’s administration continues to inspire confidence through policies focused on improving lives and fostering inclusiveness.

Congratulating him on behalf of his family, the APC chieftain said the award stands as an affirmation of Ezugwu’s dedication to building a better society and empowering people at the grassroots.
