President Donald Trump has announced a policy recognising only two genders, male and female, in the United States.
Trump made the announcement in a speech at his inauguration on Monday.
“I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life… As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” he said.

Senior White House officials said the 47th president would sign executive orders ending “wasteful” federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs as part of the administration’s wider “restoring sanity” agenda.
According to the officials, the gender order seeks to defend women from “gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the Federal Government.”
Meanwhile, Trump also vowed to revamp US trade as well as deport millions of “criminal” aliens.
“First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came,” he said.
