A US-based varsity don, Prof Adekunle Oloki, yesterday, stormed the District Customary Court, Erin-Osun, Osun State, with security, to take back her daughter from the wife of Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Kafayat.
He had accused his ex-wife, Kafayat, who is now married to the monarch, of preventing him from having access to his daughter.
He alleged that Kafayat had refused to let him speak with his daughter since she took her to the palace. The university also accused his ex-wife of changing the name of his daughter to the name of the monarch.
Prof Oloki had been asked to come to Nigeria to open his case before the court. But, when the matter came up, counsel to the defendant, Sharafa Ajibade, told the court that he could not continue with the hearing for security reasons.
He said: “I urge this honourable court to move this case to the state capital for security reasons. As you can see, the plaintiff stormed the court with security personnel and pressmen, and for this reason, I wouldn’t want to continue with the hearing. We are not safe and we cannot go on again except the two parties be allowed to stay in court, while the press and security personnel stay away.

We are in a state of apprehension; I pray the court will consider my application,” he added.
Counsel to the plaintiff, Mrs. Asafa Olaore, did not oppose the application. The president of the court, K. B. Adeyinka, adjourned the case to June 21 for consideration on the transfer of the case.
