UNIMAID gets new Bursar

A new Bursar has been appointed for the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), as approved by the Governing Council. He is Malam Yahaya Yunusa.

The appointment of the new Bursar was contained in a letter by the institution’s Registrar on behalf of the university Governing Council, UNIMAID head of Information, Ahmed Tanko Mohammed, said in a statement.

“Yahaya takes over from Mr B.H. Usmana as From 20th May, 2017 and will serve for a single period of five (5) years as stipulated in paragraph 2 of the Memorandum of Appointment,” he said.

He said the Bursar would serve as the Chief Financial Officer of the university working directly with the Vice Chancellor for the day-to-day running of the university and its financial control as enshrined in “the University of Maiduguri Act, CAP. U10 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

The statement did not state whether or not the tenure of the former Bursar has expired.

The new Bursar, Yahaya, is an alumnus of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy in 1990 and had his Post-graduate diploma in same field in the University 2003. He also did his master in banking and finance at Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi in 2017.
