First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Muslims across the country to use the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud to promote peace, unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
In a message to mark the 2026 Eid-el-Maulud celebration, Mrs Tinubu said the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) offered an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on his exemplary life and enduring virtues.
She urged Muslim faithful to emulate the Prophet’s virtues of compassion, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence, stressing the importance of extending these values to homes, communities and the wider society.
“The celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) reminds us of his exemplary life and enduring virtues of compassion, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence,” she said.
The First Lady also called on Nigerians to strengthen the bonds of unity and continue to work towards building a peaceful and harmonious nation.
“I encourage all Muslim faithful to emulate these noble virtues and continue to promote peace in our homes, communities and nation,” she added.
Mrs Tinubu expressed hope that the celebration would bring renewed hope, peace and blessings to Nigerians.
“May this celebration strengthen the bonds of unity among us and bring renewed hope, peace, and blessings to all Nigerians,” she said, while extending her greetings to Muslim faithful across the country.
She wished Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
