Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, on Monday, sent three new commissioner-nominees to the Enugu State House of assembly for screening and confirmation.

The commissioner-designates are Mr Sunday Ogbodo, Mr Emeka Ede and Dr Chukwuemeka Ekochin.

Ugwuanyi also sent one Mr Samuel Ngene to be cleared as a member of the Enugu State Independence Electoral Commission (ENSIEC).

Ngene was appointed to replace Mr Emeka Ede, the former Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, who had been appointed to be a commissioner.

The Leader of the Assembly, Mr Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, urged his colleagues to accept the governor’s letter for the confirmation of the nominees.

He, however, said that their screening and possible confirmation would be done on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Edward Ubosi, directed the Clerk of the Assembly to inform the nominees to make available 25 copies of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) before the close of work today. (NAN)
