The injury sustained by Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has prompted Udinese to search for a replacement for their goalkeeping squad.
Currently, they have only Razvan Sava and Daniele Padelli, a 39-year-old former player from Inter, Sampdoria, and Torino.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the management at Udinese has begun discussions with the representatives of Egil Selvik, a Norwegian goalkeeper born in 1997, who was released by Haugesund, a team in the Eliteserien, on December 31st.
As the January transfer window is now open, Udinese’s Sporting Director, Gianluca Nani, stated, “We currently have plenty of players. The market is open year-round, and we are being cautious. Sometimes our decisions are influenced by results, injuries, and formations. Right now, we are exploring various options and have time to analyze our choices. However, as it stands, we believe our squad is sufficient.”
