Troops of Special Operations Brigade, under Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed six terrorists in Sokoto State and recovered weapons from them.
The troops were said to have engaged the terrorists during a coordinated offensive operations against Lakurawa terrorists and made contact in Gudu LGA of Sokoto State.
Sadly, five gallant soldiers lost their lives during the operation.

Operation Fansan Yamma Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdulahi, said: “Following a fire fight, troops neutralized six terrorists and recovered four AK47 rifles, 160 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo and a box of 12.7mm ammo amongst others. Sadly, the operation resulted in the loss of five gallant soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
“In light of these events, we urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to terrorist activity in Gudu LGA and surrounding areas to military and security forces. Your cooperation is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of our communities”.
