The incident, which happened around 9 am in the morning saw the truck, which was descending from the Hill Station junction along the Yakubu Gowon Way, lost control at the popular Polo Junction roundabout going to Zaria road enroute Gada Biu.

It consequently rammed into Karibajo Sharwarma spot, an eatery just located in front of the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Jos.

Eyewitness say no life was lost but the driver, who sustained injuries, was rushed to the nearby Bingham University Teaching Hospital for treatment.

More than five cars were smashed as the truck jumped over the barrier on the road.

As at the time of writing, officials from the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) were trying to to tow the truck out of the building where its nose was sunk right into the shop.

The General Manager of JMDB, Mr Hart Bankat, was among the first callers, who visited the scene of the accident.

It’s coming less than 48 hours after the state government reeled out Order 003, 2024, which prohibited movement of heavy truck and animals in greater Jos master plan.
