The Regional LEAD Camp Program for girls, facilitated by Delta Airlines, concluded after a productive 4-month run. The Program commenced with an Innovation Camp and proceeded with stages focused on entrepreneurship and social impact before culminating in the Delta Air Lines Leadership Empowerment Achievement Development (LEAD) Camp, a 4-day boot camp held in Ghana during the 2024 International Women’s Day celebrations.

The LEAD Camp coordinated by JA Africa, hosted 30 Secondary School girls from Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. These participants were selected from over 300 top-performing students who had completed innovation camps and entrepreneurial skills training in their respective countries. Among the participants from Nigeria were Aliyah Fasasi, Tayelolu Samuel, Chisom Okechukwu, Hafeezah Akinwunmi, Mariam Ajiboye, Esther Atiye, Blessing Omogunloye, Anuoluwapo Oyebola, Aliyat Hamzat, and Fauziyyah Olatunde. Kilali David-West, a Programs Officer from Junior Achievement Nigeria, and Mrs Omolaoye Adebisi, the Principal Officer for Co-Curricular, Science, and Technology at Lagos State Education District IV accompanied the girls.

These exceptional girls participated in workshops, mentorship sessions, and hands-on activities that will empower them to become leaders in their respective communities and thrive in the global economy.

“Supporting these young ladies with an invaluable chance to develop essential leadership qualities for the future is a cherished impact that is close to our hearts,” expressed Olaolu Akogun, Acting Executive Director of Junior Achievement Nigeria. “Their selection reflects their commitment, perseverance, and progress throughout the innovation program. Our deepest appreciation goes to Delta Air Lines for empowering more girls in Africa and motivating the upcoming cohort of female leaders.”
