The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, on Saturday expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure re-election in the 2027 general elections, citing growing support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) across the country.

Matawalle, a former governor of Zamfara State, spoke in his hometown during an APC mobilisation exercise where thousands of party supporters gathered to reaffirm their backing for President Tinubu’s second-term bid.

A statement issued by the minister’s Personal Assistant on Media, Ahmad Dan-Wudil, said the minister joined party faithful in his ward to participate in the exercise and demonstrate continued support for the APC-led Federal Government.

Addressing supporters, Matawalle declared that President Tinubu and candidates of the APC would emerge victorious in the next general elections.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win again in 2027. The APC remains strong and enjoys the confidence of the people. The turnout we have witnessed today is a reflection of the trust Nigerians continue to place in our party and its leadership,” he said.

The minister described the large turnout of supporters as evidence of the vibrancy of democracy and increasing public confidence in the programmes and policies of the Tinubu administration.

He maintained that residents of Zamfara State remained committed to the APC and would continue to support efforts aimed at advancing development and improving security in the country.

According to him, the ruling party is well-positioned to record victories across elective positions in the state and nationwide during the 2027 polls.

Matawalle urged party members to remain united and continue mobilising support at the grassroots to strengthen the APC ahead of future elections.

The gathering attracted party leaders, supporters and stakeholders from different parts of the minister’s constituency, with attendees expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in the next electoral cycle.
