President Bola Tinubu on Sunday received the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, in a private visit at the State House, Abuja, as part of the ongoing engagements with traditional and religious leaders across the country.

The closed-door meeting, which lasted about 20 minutes, took place just six days after President Tinubu hosted traditional and faith leaders for an interfaith Ramadan–Lenten fast-breaking dinner at the Villa. The Sultan, who also serves as President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), was represented at Iftar dinner by the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar.
