Tinubu praises Oyinlola for world’s smallest GPS tracker prototype

President Bola Tinubu has lauded Nigerian tech innovator Oluwatobi Oyinlola for developing a prototype claimed to be the world’s smallest GPS tracking device, measuring 22.93 x 11.92mm.

The device is noted for its potential applications in industries such as security, logistics, healthcare, and smart technology.

In a post on X (@officialABAT), Tinubu wrote, “Congratulations, Oluwatobi, on this feat. You have just shown the world that Nigerian youth can!” The recognition spotlights Oyinlola’s contribution to showcasing Nigeria’s innovation capabilities.

Oyinlola, a renowned embedded systems engineer and IoT expert, has a history of pioneering innovations, including the SolarPocha workstation and pay-as-you-cook technology.

According to the Guinness World Record site, “The smallest GPS tracking device… was achieved by Oluwatobi Oyinlola (USA) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, on 27 April 2025.”
