President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Kusenla III, the 21st Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom in Lagos on his 50th birthday, praising his visionary leadership and commitment to his people.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the monarch as a beacon of progress since ascending the throne 16 years ago. Tinubu commended Oba Elegushi’s interventions in education, healthcare and entrepreneurship, noting that they have empowered many indigenes.
“Oba Elegushi has demonstrated vision, wisdom and courage in balancing tradition with modernity by embracing technology and global best practices, particularly in agriculture and skills acquisition,” he said. The President also recalled the monarch’s service in his administration as Special Assistant (2003–2007) and Senior Special Assistant (2007–2010) when he was Lagos State governor.
“I am not surprised by your leadership and achievements. You always showed deep empathy and compassion for people,” Tinubu added. He prayed for the monarch’s continued good health, longevity and wisdom to serve his people, Lagos State, and Nigeria.
