Tinubu campaign group visits late Ogogo’s family

Lagos State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), a support group associated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has paid a condolence visit to the family of veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following his death.

The delegation, led by the Lagos State Ambassador of RHA and Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Tayo Ayinde, visited the actor’s widow and other members of the Hassan family to commiserate with them and offer words of comfort.

Ayinde, who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of RHA Lagos, Dr Shopeyin; Director of Protocol, Hon. Jibike Babatunde; Director of Security, Hon. Olalekan Abubakar; Hon. Bayo Ajisebutu and other members of the delegation, described Ogogo as a cultural icon whose contributions went beyond acting.

He said the late actor played a significant role in projecting Yoruba language, identity, values and traditions through his decades-long career in Nollywood and theatre.

According to Ayinde, Ogogo’s dedication to indigenous-language cinema earned him a distinguished place among the personalities who contributed to the development and growth of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

He commiserated with the widow, children and other members of the Hassan family, acknowledging the emotional pain and difficulty associated with losing a loved one.

The RHA delegation also prayed for the repose of Ogogo’s soul and for God to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

Ogogo’s death has continued to generate tributes from colleagues, admirers and stakeholders across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, many of whom have acknowledged his contribution to Nollywood and the preservation of Yoruba culture.

The RHA Lagos delegation said its visit was not only to sympathise with the bereaved family but also to honour the enduring legacy of an actor whose work helped promote Nigeria’s indigenous culture and identity.

The organisation added that Ogogo’s contributions to the entertainment industry would remain an important part of Nigeria’s cultural history.
