Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded a new milestone in revenue generation with N347 billion collected in the first quarter of 2025 by the TinCan Island Port (TCIP) Command.

Comptroller Frank Onyeka, the Command’s Area Controller, disclosed this in a press statement disseminated on Monday.

Giving the breakdown of 2025 Q1 revenue figures, the TCIP Customs boss noted that in January the Command generated N116.412 billion, which represents 24.06 per cent more than the January 2024 figure of N88.430 billion recorded within the corresponding period of 2024.

“The record for February of 2025 also shows that the sum of N103.254 billion was generated which is also 2.90 per cent more than the sum of N100.253 billion generated in the corresponding month of February 2024.

“In March, N128.268 billion was generated and it is 10.3 per cent higher than the N115.100 billion generated in March 2024. The total amount generated for the first quarter of 2025 is thus N347.935 billion, which is 12.6 per cent higher than the N304.000 billion generated in the corresponding period of 2024,” Comptroller Onyeka said.

He also seized the occasion to harp on the need for stakeholders to make more honest declarations so that a seamless operational environment may exist and all sides may benefit from a much better conducive ecosystem.

Comptroller Onyeka appreciated the support of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and extolled the media for availing the Command positive reviews.

He, however, promised to intensify his engagements with port stakeholders at TCIP in a bid to stimulate an all-round improvement in every aspect of operations at the port.
