Thuggery unacceptable in parks, RTEAN warns members

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has warned its members and drivers against thuggery and criminality in motor parks across the country.

RTEAN National President Musa Maitakobi gave the warning during the inauguration of the Lagos State branch of RTEAN, yesterday in Abuja.

Recall that the activities of RTEAN was suspended in Lagos for over 15 months for involving in unwholesome practices, until after the intervention of the Federal Government.

Maitakobi charged them to desist from breaking down of rules and order and uphold professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

“I want all of you to know that it is our duty to eradicate hooliganism or thuggery in any motor park throughout the federation. But please keep peace, that is the solution to achieve your aim,” he said.

He also charged the elected Chairman of Lagos State branch of RTEAN, His Royal Highness Oba Sulaiman Raji Adeshina, to resolve pending issues in the Lagos state Branch immediately.

On his part, Oba Adeshina expressed happiness for being elected as the RTEAN Chairman of Lagos State.

He reiterated the importance of working as a team in order to have a rancour free tenure and achieve the set goals and mandates.

“I pledge to do my best and carry RTEAN to a higher level. I plead for all the members and executives to work together as one family,” he added.
