Three feared killed, vehicles burnt as thousands welcome Kwankwaso

Three persons were feared killed while a number of vehicles were set ablaze following skirmishes between rival political interests in Kano State on Thursday.

The clashes erupted at different traffics and among clusters of people that came out to welcome the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party. Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the state.

it was further gathered that the house of a leading politician in the state situated on Kwankwassiyya village was also touched by the rampaging thugs.

A witness told Daily Sun that the clashes occurred long before Engineer Rabi’u Musa arrived at Konar Dangora junction where thousands waited for his homecom9ng adding that the tragedies took place between 1.00pm and 400pm

In the meantime. Kano State Command of the Nigeria Civil Defence and Security Corps have arrested 63 suspects following their alleged involvement in the various clashes that erupted in the area.

Parading the suspects at the headquarters of the Command the Public Relations Officer of the NCDSC, DSC Ibrahim Abdullahi ,said the suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons as they were terrorising the people on the traffic and stealing their phones.

He confirmed that they had information from their field operatives that some vehicles were burnt but was still investigating to incident

He said that they are yet to link the suspects to any particular political party adding that they are members of the different political parties.

He said that they would charge them to court as soon as they are through with the investigations.
