Thomas Otu, Mary Udofia, others eye CBN Senior Tennis title

With the qualifying  rounds of the 47tth edition of the  Central Bank of  Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship Concluded in earnest at the tennis courts of the package ‘B’ of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, real hostilities will  begin today in the men’s and women’s draw chat on the tournament.

 

According to the draws, the men drawn to  slug  it out in the round of 64 chat made up players drawn from the National rankings,  just concluded qualifiers and wide cards entrants.

The same is applicable to the ladies Singles  category that contains a round of 32 battle confrontations.

In the men’s singles category, Abua Cannice  is seeded as top seed while Adeleye Daniel is Seed 2. Seed 3 is Michael Emmanuel

Seed 4 is Danjuma Lucky while seed 5 is Mohammed Musa.

Seeded 6 is Sani Inabo Yahaya.

Meanwhile, seed 14, Thomas Otu popularly known as star boy who reached the quarter final stage last year, vowed to do better this year by tracing the Semi-final stage. While top seed, Abua Cannice, is of the believe that what cater pulted him to the top spot will also guide him to win his first CBN Senior Tennis Trophy this year.

Also talking tough is Women’s singles seed 4, Udofia Mary who claimed to have corrected all the ills that worked against her and ia rearing to go.

On her part, Miss Toluwaloshe  Agubiade who played other girls singles and doubles categories of the I TF junior tournament in Abuja this year promised to improve on her game by going far at the 47th CBN Senior championship.

However, top seed, Abua Cannice will face Ureyang who came from the qualifiers in the games opener today while Timbra Godsgift  engages Kpum Later in another encounter.

In the ladies category, top seed, Mohammed Kadilat will be up against Maxwell Timipre while seed 2 Emmanuel Essien Bright battles it out with Bajo Puriniman.
