The QA School, a leading tech academy in Nigeria, has awarded full scholarships to five female tech enthusiasts to commemorate this year’s edition of the International Women’s Day.

Chief Operations Officer of The QA School, Adeola Awodire, who disclosed this in a statement, said the gesture is aimed at equipping women with tech skills to narrow the gender gap in the burgeoning tech industry.

According to Awodire, “tech skills seem out of reach to women and this may be due to financial constraints.” She added that the initiative is aimed at encouraging them to switch into tech, buttressing that “tech is neither boring nor complex”.
