The Journey of MC Charlene: From Cameroon to Norway
Charlene Egbe, better known as MC Charlene, was born on April 14, 1992, in Mamfe, Cameroon. Raised in a family that balanced tradition and modernity, her father who become an petroleum engineer in Norway, came to Norway as a refugee, succeeded and that led to the family’s relocation to Norway when Charlene was 8 years old. This move marked the beginning of Charlene’s adaptation to a new cultural environment while maintaining connections to her Cameroonian roots.
After settling in Norway, Charlene pursued her education at Sandsli videregående skole, where she trained in culinary arts. During her internship at Terminus, a well-regarded establishment in Norway, she developed her skills in cooking, which would later shape her professional path.
Charlene’s career spans multiple fields. As a Cameroonian-Norwegian entertainer and event host, she has built a presence in the entertainment industry, often drawing from her dual heritage. She frequently incorporates elements of her father’s Bayangi tribe from Cameroon’s Southwest region, which adds a unique cultural dimension to her work.
In addition to her entertainment career, MC Charlene is a certified chef, known for blending Cameroonian culinary traditions with Norwegian ingredients. Her ability to integrate these distinct influences has earned her recognition in both Norway and Cameroon.
