Abdullateef Okuboye has long subscribed to the latter view, building a career on turning operational challenges into triumphs.
His early career is a case study on how to lay the groundwork for lasting excellence.
His story takes root in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he served as a Team Manager for Sudong Sdn Bhd (Singtel) from 2013 to 2014. He did not just manage his team; he invested in it. While consistently exceeding every key performance indicator for service delivery, he also focused on the human element of the operation.
Abdullateef proved that a valued team is a high-performing team by partnering with Human Resources to promote a more supportive work environment. This strategy yielded tangible results such as a 15% increase in employee retention and an impressive 89% employee satisfaction score.
Building on this success, Abdullateef took on a role defined by vigilance and precision at American Express. As an Authorization Officer from late 2014 to late 2015, his mission was to protect the company and its customers by having a keen eye for risk, identifying, and escalating 75 cases of potential fraud as well as preventing an estimated $750,000 in financial losses.
This focus on security did not come at the expense of service as he simultaneously managed a high volume of customer interactions, resolving an average of 50 issues daily with a 95% first-contact resolution rate that enhanced both efficiency and customer trust.
This practical experience is built on a strong academic foundation as one who has earned a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Abuja in 2008, followed by an M.Sc. in Business Administration from UCSI University in 2012.
His education and hands-on work have equipped him with a versatile skill set that spans Strategic Operations Management and Process Optimization to Data-Driven Decision Support and HR Strategy.
