The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has provided fresh details about the circumstances surrounding her death, disputing claims that she died from breast cancer complications.
Onadeko, the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in Lagos, alleged that Osoba died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, after she went to visit a woman identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba.
Speaking in an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, Onadeko said he learnt of the actress’ death through a phone call around midnight.
“It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” he said.
He said he was unable to identify the particular police station where Osoba allegedly died but reported himself at a nearby station after receiving the information.
According to the prophet, Osoba had maintained communication with him before her death and even posted on social media while on her way to visit Kehinde Osoba.
Onadeko also rejected reports linking the actress’ death to her previous battle with breast cancer. He acknowledged that Osoba had undergone cancer treatment and surgery but insisted that the illness was not responsible for her death.
He further denied allegations that he had access to funds donated for Osoba’s cancer treatment or used the money to construct his church.
“It wasn’t my account they sent the money to, it was hers. And I didn’t use the money to build church as rumoured. I never had access to her money,” he said.
The cleric also dismissed claims that Osoba was prevented from driving her car, saying she drove herself to Iperu shortly before her death.
Onadeko denied other allegations surrounding the actress’ final days, including claims that she was poisoned or subjected to physical maltreatment. He said Osoba had left the church about three weeks before her death.
He also disclosed that Osoba had struggled with smoking and said he had encouraged her to stop the habit.
Osoba, who died at the age of 40, had previously spoken publicly about her battle with breast cancer, including her treatment and surgery. She was expected to be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
However, the claims made by Onadeko regarding the circumstances of her death had not been independently verified at the time of reporting, and the exact cause of Osoba’s death remained unestablished.
