…Deepens indigenous technology drive

TD Africa has announced an exclusive distribution partnership with Zinox Technologies, in a strategic move aimed at expanding the reach of locally manufactured technology products across Nigeria and other African markets.
The announcement was made at a media engagement in Lagos where executives from both organisations described the alliance as a deliberate effort to strengthen Africa’s technology value chain from local manufacturing to large-scale distribution.
Benson Favour, Marketing Executive at TD Africa, said the collaboration brings together innovation and distribution capacity to deepen technology access across the continent. She explained that Zinox represents indigenous excellence in manufacturing, while TD Africa provides the established channel network required to deliver products efficiently across multiple sectors.
According to her, the partnership signals a new chapter for both organisations as they align manufacturing capability with distribution strength to increase market penetration across Nigeria and beyond.
Chioma Chimere, Coordinating Managing Director of TD Africa, described the partnership as consistent with the company’s mission to empower individuals and businesses through accessible technology. She noted that foreign manufacturers often struggle to fully understand Africa’s operating environment, particularly erratic power supply and climate-related challenges.
She said partnering with a homegrown manufacturer that understands these realities marks a significant milestone for TD Africa. Under the agreement, TD Africa will act as the singular distributor of Zinox’s entire product portfolio, ensuring availability across states and regions nationwide.
Chimere added that the products are competitively priced and structured to serve enterprise, government, education, SME and consumer segments effectively.
Speaking on behalf of the manufacturer, Chioma Nwoke, Executive Director and Group Head, Human Resources at Zinox Technologies, described the alliance as strategic rather than transactional. She said the engagement reaffirms Zinox’s founding vision that Africa must not only consume technology but also design, build and scale it.
She explained that the partnership is anchored on expanded market access, stronger confidence in indigenous brands and enhanced operational capacity for scale. Through TD Africa’s distribution infrastructure, Zinox products are expected to achieve broader penetration across enterprise and public sector markets.
Ikenna Ekeh, Group Head, Computing Business at TD Africa, said the strategic vision is to expand the positioning of Zinox across banking, retail, education and other commercial verticals, beyond its traditionally strong government presence. He stated that TD Africa’s 27-year distribution experience and continental footprint provide the capacity required to scale the brand effectively.
Moses Edoh, Head of Research and Development at Zinox Technologies, highlighted the company’s investments in computing devices, consumer electronics and renewable energy solutions. He said Zinox’s power portfolio includes residential and commercial inverters, lithium-ion batteries, solar panels and mini-grid systems designed to address Nigeria’s persistent energy challenges.
He added that local engineering capacity enables the company to customise and design protective features suited to the country’s volatile power conditions.
Executives from both organisations framed the partnership within a broader narrative of economic development, arguing that local manufacturing supports job creation, skill development and value retention within African economies.
With Nigeria’s digital economy continuing to expand, the TD Africa–Zinox alliance reflects a renewed push to position indigenous technology brands at the forefront of Africa’s transformation agenda.
