A lecturer at the Taraba State College of Health Technology, Takum, Samson Philip, has been found dead in a suspected case of suicide.
It was learnt that the lifeless body of Philip, 45, was found dangling from a rope tied to the ceiling of his residence in Bete, Takum local government area early Tuesday.
A source said a bottle containing an unknown substance was recovered near the scene of the incident.
Family and friends suspect a case of suicide.
The academic community and residents of the area have been thrown into mourning in the wake of the tragic incident.
Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba State, James Lanshen confirmed the incident.
However, he said a detailed report from the Divisional Police Officer in Takum was being awaited.
He said an official statement would be released upon receipt of detailed report about the incident.
